2nd Annual Art of Speed Exhibition

 

ELIGIBILITY:

Open to artists in all media. Each entry must be the original concept and work of the artist. Final determination of what constitutes eligible work or inappropriate subject matter will rest with the judge and/or Gallery Forty-Two.  Submission of an entry to this exhibit constitutes agreement by the entrant to all conditions set forth in this prospectus.

 

PRESENTATION:

Size limit on 2D work is no larger than 4ft on any side. 3D WORK: All 3D work must be able to fit through a door frame and any display method that accompanies the work. Work on paper must be framed and under glass or Plexiglas. Only wire hanging system accepted. D Rings are acceptable. No sawtooth or single eye hooks. No wet pieces will be accepted. Gallery wrap canvas is accepted. Work submitted without compliance to guidelines will be rejected.

 

COPYRIGHT

All artists are responsible for ensuring their subject matter does not include any copyright infringements. The artist waives Gallery Forty-Two of all legal responsibilities if an artist is challenged by another party for copyright infringement. By submitting your artwork you are confirming you have secured any required releases and are not in violation of any laws.

 

RECEIVING OF WORK:

Artwork must be hand-delivered to Gallery Forty-Two, 42. E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204 Work will be accepted April 24 & 25, noon-4pm. Or shipped to 225 E. 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202 and received no later than April 24, 2023

VIEWING:

The Art of Speed Exhibition is open for viewing Wednesdays-Fridays (11am-6pm) and by appointment at Gallery Forty-Two, located at 42 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.  In addition, Art of Speed will be featured on First Friday, May 5, 2023 from 6pm-10pm, and for the Artist Reception on the 2nd Friday, May 12, 2023 from 6pm-10pm.

 

COMMISSION/ARTWORK SALES

All artworks must be available for sale. Artists can determine their own pricing or ask for guidance. Artists receive 60% of the sale and the gallery retains 40%. Gallery commissions go toward marketing, advertising of the shows and general maintaining the gallery. Artists are responsible for including the sales tax amount in the price of their piece, and for paying tax for their own art sales.

 

COMMISSION PAID

All payments will go out within 15 days after the CLOSING date of the show.  Checks will be mailed to you. The price you list when you enter your artwork is also the price that will be listed on your artwork title card and the price used to calculate the commission due to the artist.

 

MEDIA & PROMOTIONAL CONSENT

All artists agree that if their work is shown in the gallery the gallery may use images of their work for event marketing & promotion on our website and social media outlets.

 

RETURN OF ENTRIES:

Unsold artwork must be picked up on Wed, May 31, or Thursday, June 1, from noon-4pm.
